There is a spiritual mystery many believers are not taught: God does not always remove the people who oppose you – even when you are clearly walking in His will. This is a revelation of divine purpose and agenda.
In some seasons, the Lord will protect you instead of destroying them.
In other seasons, He may even allow them to remain because, knowingly or unknowingly, they are still serving a role within His greater agenda.
This is not weakness.
This is sovereignty.
The Herod Principle: When God Preserves Purpose Over Personal Vindication
Scripture shows us a profound pattern.
When danger rose against the life of Christ, God did not strike down Herod.
Instead, He spoke to Joseph in a dream and instructed him to flee with Jesus Christ.
Heaven chose preservation over confrontation.
Why?
Because God’s priority is not your emotional satisfaction—it is the fulfillment of divine purpose.
If a man is, in any way, contributing to God’s larger agenda, heaven may delay judgment upon him, even if he later turns against you. The Lord may:
- Hide you
- Reroute you
- Preserve you
- Or command you to step aside
Not because your pain does not matter, but because His plan must prevail.
Why Darkness Often Attacks From Within
The kingdom of darkness understands this principle.
That is why opposition is rarely obvious. It often comes clothed in service, loyalty, and activity within spiritual environments.
You may see individuals who:
- Join churches with passion
- Serve in departments with intensity
- Become indispensable to the system
- Yet secretly resist the rising of a particular vessel
Their strategy is simple: become useful enough that removing them creates a vacuum.
When their presence supports an operation tied to God’s work, immediate judgment may not come – because timing in the spirit is everything.
A Sobering Spiritual Reality
There are testimonies shared across Christian circles that reinforce this truth. One often-cited example involves Prophet T O Obadare, a powerful prophetic voice.
It is said that a woman who served as his Bible reader for many years – reportedly close to two decades – was later exposed as operating in witchcraft. Despite his spiritual authority, her presence remained for years without divine interruption.
Some interpret this as evidence that:
- Function can delay exposure
- Assignment can postpone judgment
- Replacement can determine timing
Heaven does nothing prematurely.
God waits until purpose is secure before He permits removal.
The Deeper Message: Your Safety Is Not in Their Destruction
Many believers pray for enemies to fall.
But Scripture reveals a higher reality: your protection is not dependent on their elimination.
God can:
- Preserve you in their presence
- Elevate you despite their resistance
- Shield your destiny while they remain active
He is able to prepare a table before you – not after your enemies disappear – but in their very presence.
The true prayer is not always, “Lord, remove them.”
The deeper prayer is, “Lord, keep me, sustain me, and let Your purpose stand.”
May every person who has attached themselves to God’s work while secretly fighting your rising lose the covering that shields them.
May those who benefit from divine systems but oppose your destiny lose favor at the appointed time.
And may God preserve you, hide you, and establish you until every resistance loses relevance and every hidden agenda is exposed – so that His justice, not human emotion, prevails.
In Jesus’ name.
